The Vice Chancellor’s Awards and Academic Sessions 2026 will be held on
4th March 2026, at the Faculty of Engineering, University of
Ruhuna, Hapugala, Galle.
This prestigious annual event brings together the entire community of the
University of Ruhuna, encompassing
Academic staff, Academic support staff, Administrative and Non-Academic
personnel, as well as
Postgraduate students, to share new ideas, highlight research
achievements, and
celebrate academic excellence across all disciplines.
The Organizing Committee cordially invites all members of the community
of the University of Ruhuna to
contribute their original research by submitting abstracts
along with extended abstracts,
and to actively participate in this distinguished forum dedicated to
scholarly dialogue and knowledge dissemination.
All accepted abstract submissions will be published in the
official proceedings,
highlighting the University’s vibrant research culture and its
dedication to innovation and academic excellence.
We warmly invite you to join us in Galle for a day of
collaboration, inspiration,
and celebration of the outstanding contributions made by the
University of Ruhuna community.

Senior Prof. Ananda Jayawardane
Faculty of Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka
Senior Prof. Ananda Jayawardane is a distinguished academic at the University of Moratuwa with extensive experience and expertise in corporate governance across both public institutions and private corporations. His professional contributions span the fields of banking, finance, strategic management, education leadership, institutional development, and policy-making in education, science, and technology. He has also made significant contributions to entrepreneurship and has a strong academic record in teaching and research, particularly in the areas of planning, project management, technology management, technology transfer, and negotiation. He previously served as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Moratuwa, providing visionary leadership that strengthened the institution’s role in higher education and research.
